Integrally suppressed 9mm pistol that you can holster: SilncerCo’s Maxim 9

Cool, but considering what may be coming (and referencing your 9 vs.40 post), I think I’ll put my $2K into four G19’s and a case of CCI and let those babies roar.

That’s quite interesting. A little ugly, but it seems snag-free, durable, and pragmatic compared to mounting an aftermarket silencer.

I wonder: Does the barrel run the full length of the slide and silencer, so that the barrel itself is ported into the silencer? Because that might be pretty nifty.

Or it might be fairly useless, since you’re probably going to use subsonic ammo and you wouldn’t be concerned about wringing out every fps of muzzle velocity that you can. And it might actually be a detriment, now that I think of it: Maybe the projectile would still be in the barrel when the barrel starts to tip up during the cycling of the action.

There’s some eastern European pistol (can’t think of the name) that’s not based on the usual 1911 action, whose barrel unlocks by rotating instead of tilting. Maybe someone could base an integrally suppressed pistol on that design, and leave that barrel full-length and ported into the suppressor. Not sure if there would be an advantage, but it’s an intuitively appealing idea.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
