Doubleplus ungood

We must lie to hide our true goals:

And every time liberals speak blithely about banning guns, they boost the N.R.A. Lets also banish the term gun control: the better expression is gun safety.

And, surprisingly, the NYT guy nails this one:

So why does nothing get done? One reason is that liberals often inadvertently antagonize gun owners and empower the National Rifle Association by coming across as supercilious, condescending and spectacularly uninformed about the guns they propose to regulate. A classic of gun ignorance

Yeah, I cut the quote off because that’s about where it should have stopped.

It seems insane to me that the Democrats are going into a national election with gun-control as a major issue. Way to lose votes in every swing state.

“Let’s also banish the term “gun control”: the better expression is “gun safety.” I think the Brady Bunch did that when they changed their name from Handgun Control . Nobody bought it then . They won’t now .

Maybe, Just maybe they are coming across that way because um, well, they are that way? No, couldn’t be that because they are assured of their superiority to everyone else. One thing is for sure, it is “inadvertent”, but in classic leftist fashion those they “antagonize” are at fault, because again still, ya know, leftists are so much better than everyone and way smarter as proven by the inadvertence which is not really a mistake you see, just inadvertent.

Spectacular how the writer chides liberals for gun ignorance, yet goes on to spout typical liberal ignorance about guns.

Stepanopolous said the same thing after the 2000 election, where he pointed out that there were about half a dozen states where the margin of defeat for the Democrats was smaller than the number of NRA members in that state. They quieted down the “Let’s take all the guns!” talk for a little while, but Democrats gotta Dem.

Again we see the old saw of “we should treat guns the same as cars”.

I wonder how they would like that if it were turned to say that *anyone* can buy one if they want one and have the money for it, period. There would also be no need to license it if it’s to be operated strictly on private property.

    Just like cars.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
