No narrative, no news

No outrage over mass shooting in Louisiana. Doesn’t fit the narrative.

One of the women murdered in Louisiana worked at my nuclear power plant for a number of years. She had recently taken a job at corporate headquarters, which is why she was in that place, filling her gas tank when Mr. Dreadlocks chose her as the first of his victims.

    Nope. Doesn’t fit the narrative.

This is totally silly. Lots of incidents that actually fit the narrative don’t make national news. Lots of stuff happens and it some times feels random what actually gets national attention and what doesn’t. Not to be morose, but if it was 17 people dead rather than 17 injured, it probably would make the news (and anything involving video has an exponentially larger chance of making the news).

And what’s the moral of this incident? That we need gun control so these folks wouldn’t have guns? That if only a good guy had a gun something would have been better? That people of the same race tend to shoot at each other?

“That people of the same race tend to shoot at each other?”

Yeah, that’s kind of it. But if one race shoots another, news. Another race shoots another, not so much.

  4. Manish Says:

So what are your thoughts on white-on-white violence as a member of the white community?

  5. Manish Says:

Are you concerned that white on white crime is under-reported?

Saturday after the big shoot, still not news. President commented on Colorado Springs really fast, though.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
