So, this is where we’re supposed to leave the obligatory comments regarding how inadequate the .38 is, right?

  2. Will Says:

    Or how awesomer Streamlight is.

  3. nk Says:

Get back to me when it vaporizes it in mid-air.

  4. JFT Says:

See, a light totally draws fire! /sarc

I swear, the ziptie looks like smoke coming out of the barrel. I had to look twice to figure it out.

  6. Will Says:

How did that hit disable the gun?

  7. Shrimp Says:

Well, I’m certainly not an expert, but looking at the picture, it appears that the light, attached to the rail in front of the trigger guard, pulled down and to the right (from the picture point of view) when it was struck by the bullet. That appears to have pulled on the left side frame rail. Looking closely at the picture, it appears that the frame rail on the left side of the picture is lower than it should be compared to the frame rail on the right side of the picture. Compare how those rails look to the top of the slide, and there is a difference of about 8-10 degrees.

Granted, we’re not looking down the bore directly, nor are we able to physically see the gun, but I’m guessing it yanked the frame rail enough that the gun would not operate normally. Depending upon what other actions it may have done (such as causing the gun to come out of battery, for example), it may have prevented the gun from even being fired.

    Level 2 flashlights.

  9. nk Says:

Lucky Luke would have put that bullet down the bore. The Continental Op would have shot off the firing pin. (Sorry, I don’t know why I find this funny, but I do. Maybe all those ridiculous movies with the white hats shooting the guns out of the hands of the black hats.)

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
