The elections

Bloomberg dumped a bunch of money on gun control and all he got was this lousy t-shirt. GOP kept the state, despite Bloomberg’s money.

And, in KY, turns out that you can run and win on social issues as a conservative

In KY, the results seem not so much directly due to social or economic policy, as much as a repudiation of the redundancy of in your face progressivism and establishment conservatism.

That is exactly the trend we are seeing in the Republican nomination process…hope to it hell continues into the general election.

    +1 JTC
Conway could not get away being tagged a BHO minion. He also excused himself from defending the KY constitution amendment banning same sex marriage on moral grounds. A blue dog Democrat will still win in Kentucky.

I don’t think many people realize how huge this victory is for Republicans. I lived in Kentucky and over the border in Ohio for the last 26 years. Kentucky has only had one other Republican governor elected since the 1960s. Plus, Bevins running mate is a black woman. Bevins had a much closer race in the Republican primary. Winning by only 83 votes.

Obama’s war on coal has hurt Kentucky’s economy significantly. This after tobacco went down the tubes a few years ago. A blue dog Democrat can still win in Kentucky, but Republicans have become a significant force, which wasn’t true not too long ago. When I moved up here winning the Democrat gubernatorial primary was tantamount to be elected.

I’m hoping Rep. Thomas Massie (R – 4th District, KY) will start making a splash. He’s a libertarian type, a genius. He grew up in one of the poorer counties in Kentucky, went to MIT, made a fortune and moved back home. Quite a story.

If you can’t win on conservative social issues, there is no point running as a conservative. Just build a true libertarian ticket and let the Dems continue to run things into the ground.

They can hold the handle at this point. It is too late to make a difference.

The KY election results do not fit the political accusations from the left that the Tea Party is racist”. The white Gov-elect has adopted children from Ethiopa and the Lt-gov is a black woman. The MSM will need to under report this result or explain it away for us. And the governor candidate, Matt Bevin, was an opponent of the Republican Party establishment. I liked the results. Like the commercial with the little girl answering, “you like it and you want more. You want more.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
