Everytown’s proposed universal background checks

It would make sharing firearms at the range illegal

Welcome to what they did to us in WA. It’s a shitshow and there’s little chance of undoing on the horizon that looks viable. People pushing for the measure were outright lying to people in person and when advertising (big surprise). Less surprising is that most people seem to be ignoring the law at ranges, which will probably last until some poor SOB gets run up the flagpole for pissing off the wrong person of authority.

I have to imagine that respect for the rest of the laws takes a hit, as well. Have you noticed any such effect? I’m interested in some anecdotal impressions, may build a survey.

How about a version where any UBC is unnecessary unless the owner has a reasonable suspicion that the recipient is a prohibited person? You know, the old “innocent until proven guilty” way of doing things as independent adults?

I think we used to call that “liberty”.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
