But police support gun control!

NRA ILA: California: County Sheriffs Sue Los Angeles over Ordinance Prohibiting Possession of Large-Capacity Magazines. More:

Now, 30 duly elected California Sheriffs, two law enforcement organizations, the California Rifle and Pistol Association (CRPA), and several other individuals have filed a lawsuit seeking to invalidate the ordinance. The lawsuit challenges the magazine possession ban on legal preemption grounds, because California state law specifically allows for the possession of such magazines.

I’m sure the Kalifornia Reichstag will be more than happy to overturn that pre-emption law. And since it’s 100% Dem control in Kalifornia they’ll even go through the motions of passing a law and having “debate” about it.

They are screwed. Embrace the suck.

  2. Lyle Says:

We don’t talk about what police want, or think, unless said police are also Progressives. If they are Progressives, we must listen to everything they say, because it’s important, don’t you know, to hear and heed what our brave and couragous police (who have only our interests at heart of course) have to say about political matters. If they are not Progressives, then either shut up about them, or; “Pigs!”

Big Dem cities: Police Chiefs, political appointees.
Rest of the Country: Sheriffs, elected.
There’s bound to be some friction, there.

  4. bobby Says:

Was there a carve-out / exemption for police officers or retired LEOs?

If not, that’d explain why the sheriffs became involved.

  5. Like I Says:

bobby’s correct – my reading of the court brief indicates the LEOs are only upset because some of their own could be prosecuted while traveling through L.A. with standard cap mags.

  6. Maxpwr Says:

Police officers. Like you and me only better.

  7. Robert Says:

The Police Chiefs association just announced that they want private sales forced to go through FFLs.

  8. Ron W Says:

Robert, have the Police Chiefs explained how they would LAWFULLY enforce that?

  9. Chas Says:

Commiefornia is a pathological entity – it’s a cancer that eats freedom.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
