On the debate

Jake Tapper seemed to phrase many of his “questions” as: So, candidate A, candidate B says you’re wrong on some issue. Tell us why candidate B is wrong.

Journalism.

But some progress in that the drug war was discussed.

Fiorina nailed Trump like a Dewalt air compressor. She impressed me. Now, my candidates in order of preference go like this:

Rand Paul
Sweet Meteor of Death
Fiorina
Cruz (but his Kim Davis thing had me all Dude, dafuq?)
Trump (because he’s basically another SMOD)

Excellent order. Sweet Meteor of Death is certainly running a strong second…

  2. Huck Says:

Fiorina appears to me to be a subdued version of the Hildebeest. That’s just a feeling of mine, there’s more to her than she’s showing.

And… She ran Lucent and Hewlett-Packard into the ground with her gross mismanagement. So as a manager, which POTUS is supposed to be, she’s a big fat goose egg.

  3. Adam Lawson Says:

I agree with Rand on far too much for him to ever get serious consideration. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the way the system works. Of the non-Trump candidates you listed, Cruz probably has the best shot.

At this point I’ll just be happy if they don’t pick one of my immediate “NO” candidates: Christie, Jeb, Graham (HAH), Santorum (HAH). The rest, given an adequate VP choice, I can at least stomach.

  4. JTC Says:

    “the drug war was discussed”

Hardly. And the darling of libertarians, champion of personal freedom and drastic reduction of government intrusion, meekly offers up that pot laws would take cannabinoid oil out of the doctor’s medicine bag, and dragged out the tired rich kids walk while poor kids get locked up for smoking weed? The little pussy was terrified that speaking real truth and walking the talk of true libertarianism would get him blackballed on the national stage, when it fact it could have set him apart as a man of principle and a staunch supporter of Constitutional freedoms. Any chance he had with me is as dead as his courage and conviction.

  5. Sebastian Says:

Trump (because he’s basically another SMOD)

That is Truth, and he’s certainly not my last choice either.

Rand’s fate was sealed when Iran became a big issue and when the Russians started getting frisky again.

For me, Walker went from someone with a great record of getting things done in a blue state to “Not ready to be a national candidate.” I Think I might have blown all his mojo taking down the public sector unions in Wisconsin, and Wisconsin being much like Pennsylvania in regards to unionization, trust me, that’s enough to zap anyone’s superpowers. Walker seems used up to me. He can still prove me wrong, but that’s how I see it. He blew his wad reforming Wisconsin.

Rubio is going places, but I think not this election. Not with the mood the electorate is in. Maybe some other time. Maybe someone’s VP.

  6. rd Says:

I like a lot of Rand’s positions. But as long as Daddy Ron is still kicking, I cannot support him for the nomination. I know that if he does get the nomination, about October 20, 2016, Daddy will say something stupid and racist, or stupid and neo-nazi, or the reporters will “discover” the Ron Paul Newsletters (they have some idiotic and racist humor). That will be enough to tilt the election from “that racist” to the Democrat, and fire up the Democrat Base.

I like Cruz or Jindal as the nominee. I will vote for them, Trump, Walker, or Fiorina (and Rand) if they are the nominee. JEB!, Christie or Kasich will not get my vote, ever.

Need more? Go to luaPnoR45dotcomm (reverse the letters). Remember the MSM and the Democrats have a big brush full of tar, and the Republicans will get it all.

  7. AJ187 Says:

Wow, RD, you going to just spam all that crap about Ron Paul everywhere you go on this site. Do you also do it everywhere else you go? Do you have anything else to say that is relevant or are you still pining over 30 plus year newsletters authored by a some racist RP supporter. He’s not said anything racist ever and there are plenty that like Rand regardless of his father. I like both the same. Most republicans hate the pauls because of the their foreign policy. Like they just want someone that makes them feel safe by saying “we better stand strong against _______ and so so. They are much more honest and pragmatic about their world views.

  8. Patrick Says:

Carly is taking heat for HP and Lucent, except that everybody seems to be forgetting the context of the times. Hundreds of firms went under. Millions lost jobs. It was so bad the site “fuckedcompany.com” became a cult hit.

Carly was piloting a large ship through an ice field, took hits and somehow kept the damn thing afloat while many more boats sunk with all hands lost. And this was bad, because…?

Rubio will be governor of Florida in 2018 if he is not the VP by then.

Trump will peak and eventually be overcome when voters on the sideline start making choices, and eschew a guy whose entire policy platform is answered by lines like, “I will excel at foreign policy…because Putin will like me.”

Paul will be out by November this year, in practical if not actual terms. His answers on foreign policy and US exceptionalism are a mess. You don’t negotiate with the international community after something like 9/11. You go blow shit up “on our own” without asking permission. I understand what he is trying to say, but he sucks at saying it. 9 out of 10 are not going to give him the credit for such subtle nuance.

  9. Mark Matis Says:

I ahte to break this to you, Patrick, but Rubio will only be governor of Florida if he turns Democrat, like good ol’ Orange Man did after completing his term. Rubio is just more Rove Republican swill, as he showed in signing on for the Gang of 8 Immigration amnesty. And there are not enough Rove Republicans in Florida to elect him to any public office. It is interesting that you say Trump will be gone, when he has been honest enough to admit that he will hire knowledgeable people to lead in the areas where he is not strong. As he clearly did in working with Senator Sessions. But then again, clearly Reagan would never be President because he was not an expert on all things. Even though he was smart enough to hire people who were experts in their areas of responsibility.

  10. Crawler Says:

Face it: a ten-fold billionaire footing his own presidential campaign, and one who is not obligated or beholden to PACs, lobbyists and low-life, self-serving donors (a la the Solyndra swindler), will stay in the race as long as he damn well wants to. Especially one who champions what most voting Americans are totally disgusted and fed up with (no, Barry, it’s not climate change): legions of illegal aliens running amok in America freeloading, killing, raping, maiming, driving drunk, destroying property and just about any other despicable offense imaginable.

Some political pundits say Trump is leading the “R” pack with double digit poll numbers because he’s a Washington D.C. outsider. That’s bull scat. Trump’s ahead because he was the only “R” who publicly voiced his disgust, anger and vehement opposition to the illegal alien siege of this country courtesy of Obama and his politburo.

As long as Trump keeps beating the illegal aliens drum on the campaign trail, he can just about say or do anything he wants and it won’t hurt him much, or at all, in the polls.

  11. JTC Says:

    Mark Matis,

Actually Rubio would be close to automatic for the Fla gov chair if he wants it; spray-tan-man was trounced by fairly hard-line R Scott for two terms, and Rubio is pretty well regarded here in spite of being mentored by a Bush. Add his built-in support among Hispanics and among northeast bluehairs for his pro-Israel positions and he’s a lock.

Lay you ten to one right now; you in?

  12. JTC Says:

As to taking it to the zero, maybe they should have put this kid on stage…meet the national president of Teens for Ted. Maybe there is some hope for this ol’ marble after all.

    http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/this-ted-cruz-booster-is-13-black-and-just-shredded-obama-on-clock-kid/ar-AAetw7P?li=AAa0dzB&ocid=HPCDHP

  13. Mark Matis Says:

I’m in, JTC. He may very well get the nomination, but Florida is becoming Puerto Rico. Any bets on how THEY will vote?

And by the way, I see Trump has put out a second policy paper on gun laws. Looks pretty damn good to me. How do YOU see it?

  14. JTC Says:

Book it, MM. Lots of PR’s here in mid-state…older ones saw what socialist policies and corruption did to their home and are pretty conservative. Younger banger-types, marielito Cubans, and mex mules are all about freebies and won’t vote unless bought which of course is what unfettered immigration is all about. We’ll see who wins that numbers game, but Rubio is in if he wants it.

The Trump Train is on a roll and he’s doing a lot of constructive destruction; he hasn’t won or lost me yet. But as to gun policy papers, the definitive one was penned in 1791; all he has to do is swear fealty to it.

  15. Mark Matis Says:

That, JTC, is what his paper seems to say. And the PRs I’m talking about are moving to Florida NOW to escape the upcoming bankruptcy there. Do you think THEY are about to give up the freebies they have become used to over there? And do you doubt that the Democrat machine can bus them to the polls in droves on election day? On taxpayer bucks, no less? And are you unaware of absentee ballots which let them vote WITHOUT going anywhere near the voting booth? And which the Democrat party can get to them, already filled out, for them to sign as they give them some presents for their vote? Or are you STILL confused as to just how corrupt and fraudulent the electoral process has become in the US of A???

  16. JTC Says:

As I said before MM, replacing natives at the polls is what the guest-voter program is all about; nothing new, just doubled and tripled down lately, and of course it The Donald’s main mission to stop it.

No confusion, just a vestige of hope; take a listen to the link I put above of the black kid who tore the 0 a new one; we’re down but we ain’t quite out yet, unless we think so.

  17. Mark Matis Says:

The PRs are NOT “guest voters”. They already have full US citizenship through the Foraker Act of 1900. As soon as they establish Florida residency, they are eligible to vote. The latest estimate is that there are 1 million currently living in Florida, and back LAST year they were coming over at the rate of ~100 EACH DAY. Rubio personifies amnesty as a result of his signing on with McCain and the rest of the Gang of Eight. Conservatives will stay home if he runs. Democrats will make sure every PR votes, and votes the right way. Of course, it really makes no significant difference whether a Rove Republican or a Democrat wins. Other than to their cronies, who will get to slop at the government trough only if THEIR guy wins.

  18. JTC Says:

Mark, you start by saying Rubio can’t win gov of Fla then proceed to quote demographics that bolster his chances and finish by saying it doesn’t matter if he does. I don’t know what your point is and I don’t think you do either, but as to your original retort at Patrick, the bet is on.

  19. Mark Matis Says:

My point is that those PRs AIN’T gonna vote Republican. And yes indeed, the bet is on.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
