Chris Christie on guns

Given that he recently announced his aim of running for president, he needs some pro gun bona fides:

Acting on his commitment to ensure a fair application of the states gun laws that respects individual rights to possess firearms and that also protects public safety, Governor Christie today took action to make commonsense changes to New Jerseys gun regulations that ensure victims of domestic violence or violent crime, or those living under a direct or material threat, have their firearms applications processed quickly and without delay.

Has he pulled a Mitt Romney yet and went out and bought a NRA life membership?

Oddly, his announcement seems to have disappeared.

Cool! So even though criminals can and always will have any gun they want, any time, anywhere, all I have to do to get a gun legally is get beaten up, raped, robbed, threatened with violence or shot. This is the new liberty?

When will even one politician realize that it’s stupid to play two contradictory sides of an issue in an attempt to impress everyone, thus looking like a jackass to both sides? Or is it built in to their DNA such they can’t help it?

  2. MJM Says:

I swear, this time I really mean it, if the Republicans give us Christie or, Bush I will not vote Republican.

  3. ThomasF Says:

I plan on voting in the dem primariesprimaries, if only tonlyfor the chance to vote against Hillary twice.

  4. Alien Says:

In New Jersey Chris Christie is a conservative; everwhere south of NJ he’s Just Another Stinkin’ Big Government Commie.

    It’s a geographically-based sliding scale.

  5. Ron W Says:

MJM, the only time I’ve voted Republican for Prez since Reagan, was very reluctantly for George W. Bush in 2004. He turned out to be a phony conservative and he supported the AWB. I quit “wasting my vote” and voted either for the Constitution Party or Libertarian. How a politician understands the 2nd Amendment being a DECLARED right of the people from which they are RESTRICTED from infringing, is a litmus test as to whether they understand the rest of the Constitution and ALL of the Bill of Rights. Someone who must go and purchase a lifetime NRA membership to run for Prez does NOT have the basic Constitutional understanding and SERVANT attitude.

  6. Ron W Says:

Correction: thst was in 2000 that I voted for Bush. I learned my lesson for 2004.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
