The US Army does not approve because all departments are political now: Army “Concerns” About Transfer Of M1911A1 Pistols To CMP

  1. The Jack Says:

Apparently to get a gun via the CMP one has to pass a background check, be a member of an approved club, and have proof that you participate in marksmanship.

All to get a large handgun with a 7,8 round capacity.

Huh… there’s more than a few countries with requirements to get a handgun that are that strict.

  2. Brad Says:

Ignore the headlines, and take a very close look at that Army document.
Carefully note the biggest criticisms of changing CMP policy. That criticism isn’t from the Army, it’s the Army reporting what the DOJ said to the Army. And not only is it the DOJ making the accusations, it is not even a formal statement from the DOJ, the document says the DOJ contacted the Army “informally”.

According to the document, all that the Army wants is more “study” before CMP policy is changed. The Army does not endorse the DOJ complaints. But to see that you have to bury into the text of the document.

In short, somehow the Obama administration got the Army to act as a false front for an anti-gun attack by the DOJ.

    “The Army” has concerns…

As if they polled actual Soldiers and not political toadies.

  4. Lyle Says:

They’d better just shup down the CMP then. Clearly the idea of advocating civillian marksmanship is giving politicians (criminal minds) the vapors.

  5. Chas Says:

Appropriate members of Congress need to contact the Army and forcefully educate them regarding the Second Amendment. The Army doesn’t get a penny from DOJ, but is entirely dependent on Congress for its appropriations, and is extremely keen to avoid even slightly displeasing anyone in Congress.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
