The story that I read about the AR added that the bolt was not in the carbine (I refuse to call this thing a rifle) but in Colorado. The article implied that lack of bolt made the carbine “DC-legal” and the whole issue moot. I cannot speak to the accuracy about whether the lack of bolt makes everything OK. However, if I were a congress-critter, I would damn well have and carry anything that I wanted; not because I am better but because I can (I understand that this is the case for congress-critters. If I am wrong in this understanding, then I would be very careful to be Constitutional in everything that I do, knowing that unconstitutional laws are of no force and have no effect).
