New ATF Director?

Rumors the ATF director is heading to the NFL. Well, I’ve almost completely stopped watching pro football. If this happens, I will completely.

    Jets need a water boy?

OK, I give up. Do they want him to clean things up over there too, or is it part of their Mexican outreach?

Wish I had the energy-generation franchise for Joe Foss’s gravesite right now. Serious RPM’s spinning up.

lawyers in sports front offices. What a crock.

  4. DocMerlin Says:

One head of a government sponsored monopoly switching jobs to run another government sponsored monopoly?

As an aside, how fucked up is it that there needs to exist something such as FFLGUARD? Damn I’m glad it won’t be long ’til I shuffle off…

I never did take a interest in pro, or any, football. I fail to see the fascination that people have in watching a bunch of felons with their IQ score displayed on their jerseys chasing a ball around.

Huck, are you saying that the linemen are the smartest dudes on the field? (Highest numbers)

It is interesting to me that a sport with strong support from liberal AND conservative states, with a lot of money to lose, would choose such a politically alienating person to represent the league.

  8. Ron W Says:

John, actually as a group, offensive linemen are usually the most brainy guys on a football team. But then the highest numbers are usually the DL’s with 90’s numbers.

  9. JAG2955 Says:

I suppose that his first decrees will be: No linemen over 250lbs, no quarterbacks over 6′ tall, and no receivers faster than a 5.0 40yd dash.

  10. Ron W Says:

It seems the government man would try to impose diversity on the NFL, you know, make the team rosters, ” look like America”.

  11. Richard Says:

The NFL does have an extensive program of gun control.

  12. Wade Says:

I’m routinely amazed at the numbers of pro-gun, ostensibly conservative people who give money to the assholes that run the NFL. The NFL receives huge government subsidies in the form of venues, exemptions from antitrust law, and state-sponsored farm teams(public universities). In return, they pass rules that bar their employees from owning guns and work to cover up law-breaking by their employees.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
