And what about the states that have it?

The WaPo is clutching its pearls because constitutional carry is on the rise. Do the states that already have it show an increase in crime?

Just the other day I had to engage the 4 wheel drive just to gnaw my way through all the bodies piled up in AZ. They get shot faster than they can be removed and blood runs down the streets!

    Or not…

    Like that matters to them…

Which is always the first thing pro-gun rights folks should do.

Quit playing to the Anti’s game of trying to make every local expansion of rights into a unique local event. Don’t talk about why “our, the city” needs a freedom, instead immediately point to the massive number of other state’s/cities/etc that *already have it with no problems*.

Then turn the tables on the usually Progressive anti; ask why, if people are truly all alike regardless of race, creed and color, they believe their own neighbors and cops are less competent and responsible than people the next state over.

After all, that’s the only possible logical reason for them to oppose a given freedom that is innocuous elsewhere, that they think their neighbors and their neighbors alone are too stupid, incompetent, irrational, or inherently violent, to handle it.

Put them on the horns and let them squirm.

Facts and the WaPo only occasionally cross paths.

Mattthew, one would be wasting time and breath attempting to use reason and logic on libs. They flat out refuse to see any point that counters their cherished delusions of how they want to believe things to be.

In a nutshell, reality has no meaning to them. Only their self delusions matter.

  6. Matthew Carberry Says:

    Huck,

True, but you’re never trying to convince the actual hard-core anti. You are always playing to the undecided, or non-ideological, reflexively gun-leery audience.

Give *them* reasons to question the BS the anti is spewing, put the anti on their back foot having to defend their bigotry (which will usually end with them throwing a tantrum, destroying their credibility) rather than constantly providing apologetics for our position as if we have some duty to explain.

The uncaring middle who we need neutral, if not on our side, see that and it does shift attitudes. They aren’t dumb, they just, for the most, don’t really care.

Sometimes the debate isn’t for the purpose of changing the mind of your opponent, but for the benefit of the observer who hasn’t made up his mind. Make your opponent look unreasonable, unintelligent, intransigent, and convince the third party.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
