Never really heard of Limbaugh chiming in on guns

Until now:

[Obama] wants to take guns out of everybody’s hands and if he can’t do that, he’s going to take the bullets that go in the guns out of everybody’s hands.

  1. Robert Evans Says:

I think that, way back in his first book The Way Things Ought To Be, he mentioned that he had been given a muzzle-loader of the same type that Charlton Heston brandished at that famous “from my cold dead hands!” speech. Because Rush was living in NYC at the time, he wasn’t allowed to take possession of it. Never heard what the final disposition of the gun was.

  2. Ron W Says:

I recall Rush being the keynote speaker at an NRA convention maybe 15-20 years ago. But he doesn’t spend much time on the RKBA.

  3. HL Says:

I recall him drawing parallels to the GC movement in the past, when for instance, smoking was under attack, or SUVs.

He said to the audience something to the effect of “now you know how supporters of the 2nd Amendment feel”.

It has been several years ago, but it was as he went to break and sort of out of the blue. It is so rare it definitely jumps out at you when he mentions it.

  4. C-Low Says:

Rush is a longtime supporter of gun rights. A fellow gunnut he is not but he is solid on the gun issue.

He is also one of the few that is not a ardent gun person I have heard mention that the homeland security and other gov agencies buying up millions of rounds of ammo was just a liberal effort to drive up prices hence gun control by other means.

  5. Lyle Says:

Yeah, he’s mentioned gun rights in passing a number of times over the years (always pretty good) but never spent a lot of time on it, that I can recall.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
