Malls are typically “gun-free” places so attacking there would provide more unarmed victims. If such were to happen, it is certain that our government will use it as yet another pretext to further disarm us.

I’d go with .45 ACP JHP.
Can’t think of any malls here in Texas that are gun free kill zones.

Actually, .45 ACP was adopted specifically for the purpose of killing drugged up Jihadis.

The answer is quite simple. Insist that every able bodied adult person be reasonably trained and armed as a requisite for entering the mall.
The juhadistis will choose to “convert” folks at gun free zones.
(My initial thought was “People go to malls unarmed?”)

The right answer is “the one you brought to the mall with you”, right?
Because otherwise, it’s “whatever the local PD issues”, or maybe “the baseball bat from the sporting goods department”.

Well…that would depend upon the actual target……
Being a traditionalist….I like this caliber for certain jihad targets: 406mm

That may be true for the typical mass shooter, but the jihadi type doesn’t fold when he runs into opposition. You must kill him, or he remains a threat. He could be carrying grenades or other explosives. DEAD, and make sure of it!
You cannot treat the situation as a normal criminal activity.

Winning of hearts and minds. Two to the heart, one to the mind. My choice is the .45ACP as I’m big enough to carry a bunch. Indiana is the home of Simon Malls (Mel’s daughter was in my HS class), and they’re big on being victim disarmament zones, but we can walk right past those signs as long as nobody calls us on it. Concealed means concealed.

Bring enough gun, but also bring enough bullets.
With the possibility of organized/multiple threats, the case can be made to eschew compact single stack 9/40/45 for a thicker doublestack mag fed pistol that is capable of using their big-brother fullsize mags for reloads.
