Freedom Index

Florida is number one. The usual suspects round out the bottom.

My state is a few worse than TN. I imagine a lot of that is the fear of gay cooties and other social bullshit.

But hey, our gun laws are pretty sweet and I shoot off fireworks without fear of The Man.

  2. Linoge Says:

I’m honestly amazed NC ranked over TN.

  3. Huck Says:

Wyoming is numba ten? It dosn’t seem that way to me but I fled here from Californication so just about anywhere would be a breath of free air.

  4. Standard Mischief Says:

You really have to read closely and see just how they are weighing each facet that they are considering. Their requirements for more freedom differ from yours.

The bias is obvious, they’re from NC and NC weighs heavy in their discussion.

I would have liked to see the raw data. I read the PDF and did not turn on javascript, so I might have missed it.

  5. Mike Says:

Somehow Madiganistan (the Democratic Peoples Republic of Illinois) scored better than it should have. Probably somebody knew a guy.

  6. nk Says:

Florida is light on laws that make it hard to fleece tourists. When you look close at these things, “business friendly” is the better term than “freedom loving”.

  7. Gerry Says:

Anyone who thinks PA is allows more freedom than KY is on drugs.

  8. Adam Lawson Says:

Kentucky has a lot of dry counties and that may play into it.

Add booze cooties fears to the list of bullshit states do to make them less free for no really good reason…

  9. Gerry Says:

Adam Lawson two words for you: State Stores

  10. Mr Evilwrench Says:

Wow, #3. I’d still rather be here than there.

  11. JTC Says:

“I’d still rather be here than there.”

Good, now if you can get all these Hoosier Q-Tips to share that feeling, maybe I can get up to more than 30 mph on 6-lane US 27 in Sebring, possibly even get a seat in a restaurant.

  12. Adam Lawson Says:

Gerry – we don’t have that, but it sounds like a downer.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
