Why are anti-gun activists so violent?

Man sees another man carrying a gun at Wal-Mart. And tackles him:

A Lithia man has been charged after he tackled another man Tuesday who had a handgun in a holster — and a permit to carry — at a Wal-Mart.

About 11:58 a.m., deputies responded to the store at 11110 Causeway Blvd. where Clarence Daniels had been taken to the ground by Michael Foster, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Foster had seen Daniels getting out of his vehicle in the lot with handgun, under his coat and in a holster. Foster followed him into the store and then attacked the Daniels, the sheriff’s office said.

The report said Foster did not call 911 until he tackled Daniels.

Also, some situational awareness may be in order:

Once inside the store, Foster approached Daniels from behind, placed him in chokehold and took him down against his will and without permission. A brief struggle ensued.

Police are charging the one who did the actual assaulting and battering. Good.

    I’d a shot him!The assaulter that is.

  2. JTC Says:

Antis often wish or advocate violence against gunnies but rarely commit it for obvious reasons of self-preservation. And this nutjob must have a serious death wish to go with his desire for his minute of teevee fame…this wallyworld is about an hour from me in a built-up suburban area that was cow pasture not so long ago…and you could still hit a cow -and more ominous for our vigilante- a cowboy with a rock from there.

Pretty bad judgment on the part of the nutjob, and pretty good judgment and self-control on the part of the toter in not capping the guy for assault right on the spot. But yeah, he’ll probably want to brush up on his peripheral awareness in the future…and maybe keep his concealed piece a little more concealed too.

Of course they arrested someone choking out an innocent man. It was not Knoxville, TN.

  4. Crawler Says:

How could that idiot, Foster, know he wasn’t tackling a plain clothes LEO?

I agree, Foster is lucky he isn’t in a hospital, or worse, cooling his heels horizontally in the county morgue.

Walmarts were not always like this.

    Tackled? Condition White?

    Annnnd here’s Shannon Watts’ stance.

It’s not quite an endorsement of physically attacking gun owners (this time). But it is her bemoaning being arrested for assaulting someone who commited no crime.

But remember! She just wants background checks and training!

  8. Wyowanderer Says:

Now that Shannon Twatts is distracted from dancing in the blood of the Idaho mom, she can promote assault.

  9. AndyN Says:

The assailant was 43, the victim 62. I realize there are some really in shape 62-year-olds out there, but I’m going to go way out on a limb and guess that if the guy with the gun was in his 40s or younger, our brave sjw hero would have exhibited a bit more discretion. Of course, that still leaves open the possibility that the victim would have been SWATted, so just being tackled by a fascist in a Walmart might have been a safer alternative.

  10. RAH Says:

Foster took a chance but he did it well taking the CCW down from behind. I think this is more fear based on the murders at Charlie Hebdo. We need more education that people are not bad guys because they carry a gun

  11. Mr Evilwrench Says:

As gimped up as I am, some dickhead puts me in a chokehold, he’ll be flying over my shoulder and flat on his ass with a .45 in his face before he can twitch. I live one town over from Ms Shannon, but I have no patience for that shit. I am legal to carry, and I do.

  12. Todd S Says:

It really is a good thing that the assailant took the older man down before he could get to his pistol. I’m pretty sure Wally World sells blood cleanup supplies.

  13. Zermoid Says:

Hope the guy sues his assailant for everything he’s worth.
    Which may not be much.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
