The constitution only applies if there’s a ‘special danger’

And you have to prove there is one to get a carry permit in DC.

Suppose the danger appears suddenly (as they sometimes do), and there’s no time to get a permit, let alone a gun… and an innocent person dies. Who’s liable?

Yeah, I thought so. “We have no obligation to protect you, and we will not let you protect yourself.”

  2. Adam Lawson Says:

“I live in DC” should suffice…

  3. bob r Says:

I am a living human being should suffice…

  4. Adam Lawson Says:

Bob — I agree that anyone should be able to get a permit.

But living in DC certainly qualifies as “special danger” more than the average person…

  5. Lyle Says:

“There is evil in the world.” That’s a special danger. Never mind the Bill of Rights of course, which prohibits any permission requirements.

Try “Congress is in session”? Seems dangerous to me…

  7. mikee Says:

So normal everyday danger does not suffice, it has to be special, like some mentally deficient danger that comes to you on a short bus?

  8. Stuart the Viking Says:

Some people can be really annoying, and sometimes those they annoy get violent because of it.

I wonder if being really F&^king annoying would suffice as a reason to have a permit?

“Shall not be infringed” why do I even need a permit/license, even in a very free state? I should be able to walk into a hardware store to buy a tool and its appurtenances, then carry that tool with me and use it should it become necessary. Bolts need tightening, I have a wrench. Nails need driving, I have a hammer. Some of these dumbasses need killing. You use the tool that’s made for the job. How hard does this have to be?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
