ATF update on the Sig SB-15 brace

Firearms Technology Branch tells shotgun maker, Black Aces Tactical, that shouldering it may turn a gun into a short barreled shotgun. So, yes on rifles and not on shotguns?

  1. Weer'd Beard Says:

Unless the shotgun is in .410 and rifled, at best a “shotgun pistol” is an AOW.

I don’t see what the big deal is, a short rifle with no stock is a “pistol” by ATF standards.

A short shotgun with no stock (and never having had a stock or a long barrel for whatever relevant reasons) is an AOW.

Besides the fact that the NFA is stupid, what am I missing?

  2. Gun Blobber Says:

It seems that the major point of distinction on this ruling is that the shotgun submitted had a forward pistol grip on it, making it an AOW.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
