Did somebody say Ebola?

I don’t think it’s time to panic but it is time to be prepared. CDC issues an Ebola check list. I bought a case of N95 masks a month ago. And latex gloves. And it’s rather timely that Amazon is promoting their deals on emergency preparedness here and here.

Progressives have for decades been saying that there are far too many people on Earth.

And how is that public transportation looking now?

because he both had symptoms and state he had been in an area known to have infection in the general population. Somehow, even with a checklist, he was not given any Ebola (or apparently ANY disease) tests.

I prefer nitrile gloves for fit and durability but that might just be me.

  6. emdfl Says:

Because he didn’t have a SS number was the story I saw. Yeah, illegal exposes himself to ebola, gets his “family” here in the states(probably brought here by this administration) to send him a plane ticket, and comes here for treatment – paid for by the US taxpayers. Not to mention how many other people he has exposed to this disease between Afica and Dallas.

  7. Robert Says:

Once the news got out that US hospitals could cure it, the stampede was on. They know that if they can make it here, they will get treatment for free.

  8. Ron W Says:

Lyle, you’re correct about that and some super rich global elitists propose reducing world population to a “sustainable” 500 million. I assume they would exempt themselves in achieving that number.

  9. Chris Says:

Note to self: Don’t go to sub-Saharan Africa and pick up a chick.

  10. Fin Says:

Checklists, masks and gloves won’t help anyone when we have a border that looks like a sieve. All the jihadists need to do now is travel from Africa as human bombs. By coming to America and visiting shopping malls, churches and other places people gather, the infection rate will skyrocket and the pandemic will overwhelm the Country. It’s only a matter of time now. Obama’s final gift to the Country.

  11. Mr Evilwrench Says:

Got all that except the gloves are nitrile because of allergy issues. And much more.

Ebola would be hard-pressed to have any significant possibility of epidemic in a first-world country. We don’t attack our doctors and tear down clinics. We live in actually pretty damned hygienic societies. You don’t wallow in human waste or body fluids, so the chances of getting Ebola are pretty damned low. Highly infectious, barely contagious. Don’t do the nasty with an ebola patient, don’t wipe their blood on your open wounds, or drink it, don’t play in their poo, no problem.

  13. Ron W Says:

    Fin,
It’s really been a long time since we have had a pro-U.S. Administration in Washington D.C. which follows the Constitution and does what is obviously best for our own people. Certainly Obama is the worst in that regard.

You do realize that you just described places like Detroit, Michigan right?

  15. cspradlin Says:

And they don’t do HALF the things that happened to the Ebola clinics. Yeah, it’s a shitty place. I’ve BEEN there. It would still be hard pressed to cause an epidemic. Compared to a lot of countries, the FLU can (relatively) barely spread! And it’s one of the more contagious viruses out there, if not /that/ dangerous.
    As it is, we have:
Indoor plumbing for almost every single citizen
A general lack of public transportation (and what we do have can either be under-utilized or over-packed depending on the day!)
No conspiracies that Ebola isn’t real (hence one of the biggest reasons that they attacked and looted ebola clinics)
Clean, potable, running water for everyone
A general societal norm of being hygienic

Ebola is about the last thing to cause an epidemic HERE. It’s practically perfect for places like, I don’t know, Africa, where it has largely originated and has a lot of factors in the local societies and cultures that can benefit the spread of it. Most first-world nations really are not in much danger of a serious outbreak, yet alone an epidemic. Unless it suddenly makes the jump to airborne, or makes the species jump to a LOT of different species, it’s just not that much of a problem. The various kinds of Flu are, because they spread easily and readily, and mutate constantly and quickly. They are airborne, highly contagious, don’t tend to kill their host (allows for more spread), and extremely hardy. A virus or bacteria with similar factors, but with more lethality, WOULD be a danger. Kind of like how a “generic” zombie virus really wouldn’t be able to spread very much at all.

  16. SPQR Says:

cspradlin, yep, Ebola just isn’t going to be transmitted outside of Africa … whut? Whoops.

Stop with the facts already! 🙂

  18. cspradlin Says:

And when did I ever say it wasn’t going to be transmitted outside Africa? Considering that there have been (granted, a remote few) outbreaks outside of Africa in the first place. I stated that it could not reach epidemic levels in a first-world nation. Which it never has. Probably, never will. Not even that Zaire strain that was considered airborne (and, at the time, only infectious to monkeys)

Fucking-A, READ YOUR OWN ARTICLE. She had direct contact with people suffering from Ebola. And was the FIRST TO HAVE CONTRACTED IT. Who did she contract it from? Priests working in, you guessed it, West Africa! Ding ding ding ding! She’s still alive and stable, which at this point, is a big indicator she’s more than likely to survive(not to mention care in an actual facility, not a hastily-constructed ramshackle “clinic”) Now, she’s the only one in all of Spain with the disease. Being transmitted through direct contact with bodily fluids, the chances of a huge outbreak: just about none. I mean, they could pull a couple pints out of her and put them in the bloodbank rotation, if they really wanted to. That might do it. Hell, pull a couple pints out of the 50 other people they slammed into quarantine just because they could possibly have ever even seen her.

You probably think zombies could happen, too. And that 9/11 was an inside job. How about this, don’t fuck people with ebola, don’t drink their blood, don’t make out with them, maybe you won’t get it. Don’t eat bats either, that’s considered the probable host species. Oh, yeah, don’t loot a bunch of equipment and furniture from EBOLA clinics, either, at least not without disinfecting it. Considering the hype and panic, I don’t think ANY of those things will be a problem in America. I’m amazed people aren’t ostracizing members of their community who seem even a little sick!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
