Taking liberals to the gun range

80% are women, the target audience. The man, I predicted before watching, would continue to be a scaredy cat:

We won one and probably two.

“I mean it was a fun thing, but not every fun thing is legal…”

And this is exactly why we should, in general principle, be against making “fun things” illegal just because a bunch of puritans somewhere are against fun.

  2. James Says:

Watching this almost made me ill.

First, don’t blow the hipsters’ minds by starting with 12ga 870 and 9mm m-9. A .22 and low recoil 20ga is more than you can expect them to cope with psychologically.

Second, Darwin has sunny days too sometimes. If they won’t accept personal responsibility they can

  3. AJ187 Says:

A great illustration of how liberals base all their views on how they “feel” and the irrational phobia they have over the machines.

  4. The_Jack Says:

And yet this shows why the antis put so much effort into making it hardest for people to start shooting (FIOD cards, making “range transfers” felonies, banning gun rentals).

Because they know that much of their support comes from people who are completely ignorant of firearms.

And they can also count the number of supporters they’d lose if any even went shooting once.

  5. mikee Says:

The smiling turn to the trainer after the first shot is something worth noting.

When you take a new shooter to the range, be prepared for them to rotate towards you after the first shot, still holding the gun, finger likely on the trigger, with that glorious smile of accomplishment and awe on their face.

A simple hand near their shoulder while they shoot the first round can stop the rotation, along with the muzzle-flagging of the shooters to the right of their position.

After that “Moment of Wow!” they can usually be trusted to remember to keep the muzzle downrange.

Thus endeth the sermon, the video was very interesting.

And I hope to god those were dummy rounds cycling through the shotgun at the end.

Why would you question the gentleman’s competence? Of course they were dummy rounds. Either that or they were extremely lucky/unlucky to have that many duds in a row. He couldn’t pump the gun unless he was pulling the trigger (or hitting the release, but he was saying “pump, shoot, pump, shoot” so he was likely dropping the pin on each snap cap).

    Good job all around.

  8. Mr Evilwrench Says:

Of course, since they’re afraid of the tools and what they might do with them, obviously everyone should be. I wonder how retarded they’d be around a compound miter saw or a MIG welder, and yes, retarded is the word. Liberalism is a mental disorder, and it effects more than the dumbasses they vote for.

  9. KM Says:

My personal feelings are expose a new shooter to something with less recoil & blast than a 9mm indoors.
Having a noob not get their fear validated is a good thing. Sucess with a 22 goes a long way.

  10. Eric Says:

Agreed. A .22 LR pistol would have been much better. It also would have been physically smaller and less intimidating. Having them shoot indoors was also a mistake for noise reasons. At least they didn’t (seem?) to have someone pulling off a.500mag hand cannon.

Taking a person who is unsure of about guns is still the best way to help them work through it. The “conflict” that one was experiencing was her head trying to resolve the difference between expectation and reality.

Did you see how they were all leaning over the counter at the end? They were all interested, whether they like it or not.

That one guy, I’m sure I’ve seen him before in flannel pj’s with a cup of hot chocolate.

If possible, I like to start new shooters off with a gas airsoft pistol. Similar weight. Slide cycles with each shot. 0 death probability on a muzzle swing. Can shoot indoors/outdoors with no earpro, just eyes- easier for trainee to hear instructor.
Then move to the range with a 22, preferably of the same make/model as the airsoft- even better if it’s the 22LR trainer for the full caliber.
Start with a single shot. If they still swing round after that first shot at least it’s empty. Then load 2 rounds, fire, then 3. Repeat 1-2-3 with the full house caliber.
Hi viz type targets are best, be sure they see a RESULT of their hit, not “maybe there’s a hole in the paper”. Cause and effect. Remind them to rest and breathe between strings, they have a lot more adrenaline going through their system than you do. Be safe, be encouraging, have fun!

Paul is right, obviously some mad genius is cloning Pajama Boy in an attempt stop the left from breeding.

The most interesting bit was at 2.33 when Daysha basically says she had to stop because she was enjoying it too much. Luckily she was able to prevent herself from taking in information that might challenge her mindset.

Proud to say I’ve enlightened a few San Francisco “progressives” with trips to outdoor ranges. A few have turned into full blown enthusiasts.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
