He passed away today. While this response isn’t inaccurate, it’s a bit harsh. Per emails, The Brady Campaign is already using this for fundraising.

He received sympathy, prayers, and condolences from many, many Americans after he was injured. He rewarded them by trying to strip them of freedom and property.
He seemed to believe that his suffering entitled him to make others suffer.
“Harsh” is what his memory deserves.

I’ll bet they couldn’t cite even one. Wayne could just as easily say the Brady Bunch is directly responsible for costing many people their lives, and that couldn’t be proven either, but I wonder how they, and their media, would respond.

I suppose Gabby is in the same position as James Brady was; manipulated by political and family handlers.
I have zero animosity towards either. They are/were used as tools to advance agendas, where they are not cognizant in the means that they are being used.

What you said is true of innocent schoolchildren, as politicians, the media, and even some of their parents dance in their blood to advance their evil misguided agendas, Brady and Giffords were/are active participants. Are you still a tool if you use yourself for publicity, sympathy, and political ends? Only in the alternate sense of the word.

But was Jim Brady (and now Gabby Giffords) a “active participant?” I’m not sure Giffords can tie her own shoes without help, and Jim Brady wasn’t much better. They both ended up as puppets for ambitious spouses.
I feel sorry for Jim Brady, and am glad for his sake that he’s finally at peace. I similarly feel sorry for Gabby Giffords.
And I hope that both Sarah Brady and Mark Kelly end up sharing the same pit in hell.

He seems like a guy who was genuinely liked and respected back when there were decent people in DC.
I always wondered if his serious brain injury left him unable to resist being led on the anti-gun crusade. Would he have been anti-gun without the brain damage?
