Thank you for yet another opportunity to say that the state of Maryland, where through some sort of mental defect I spent an entire decade, should be plowed under and the land salted.

  2. Lyle Says:

Of course, with the new definition of a right as being something someone else must be forced by law to pay for, it means that if you have the right to drink, then someone other than you must be forced to buy your booze. Hey; a right is a right, and so if you don’t buy my booze for me then you’re denying me my right to drink. So the only obvious solution to this conundrum is to ban booze (because liberty is right out, of course). May as well start with the high capacity booze.

And they did that on the same day they raised the state gasoline tax . It is now actually cheaper to put Everclear in your gas tank than hi-test . If you could get Everclear .

I wish I could get this stuff for my Vodka infusions. When you add fruit or bacon to a vodka it leeches all the water out of the flavoring lowering the proof.

Plus Everclear is VERY neutral in flavor, mix it with spring water or filtered water for only the flavor you want.

  5. KM Says:

That recipe sounds like an interesting experiment!

And Mikee is right on what to do with MD.
(or the obligatory “nuke it from space just to be sure”)

    Thanks for the linkage.

All media reports I’ve heard claim that Everclear and it’s number 2 competitor (also made by the same company) are the “alcohol of choice” of young collage binge drinkers.

That will teach them. Divide and conquer, nanny state.

It’s bad enough that “tax and spend” 0’mally raised the booze tax to 9%, now the (D) machine goes and does this $#!+.

The first one got me homebrewing beer and cider again.

This second move may have me getting an ice-maker copper-tubing kit for my pressure cooker.

    Note to ttb.gov:

Just kidding. It’s a “wort chiller”.

  8. Blake Says:

I buy 190 proof alcohol for photographic purposes. When they ban this stuff, it is really hard to get for a lot of people. They have to rely on less than satisfactory chemical mixtures to get the same results.

  9. Lyle Says:

All bans are stupid, but banning any form of ethanol has to be considered especially moronic, since it is made naturally anywhere there are fermentable sugars, whether you want it or not.

But Progressivism is all about stiring up trouble, and so in that context it makes perfect sense.

  10. Paul Kisling Says:

Let me guess. For the children..

  11. Chas Says:

190 proof is pretty much undrinkable straight. Works very efficiently with a mixer though. Pretty much harmless in and of itself, and ordinary vodka can spike a mixer just as effectively too.
    Senseless, freedom destroying legislation.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
