I have a coomercial finish CZ83 in .380ACP that is astonishing accurate.

I sm also fond of my Star BM.

In my opinion, carry guns and their related accessories (holster, ammo, sights, etc) are not something to skimp on.

If you don’t have the money for something good, save up until you can afford at least a decent Glock/M&P, or XD. As far as holsters go, there’s always Crossbreed’s seconds site…

  3. Critter Says:

Tokarev 7.62x25mm. The hipster gun of combloc iron.

  4. RC Says:

Hmmm…depends on where you live and what drives your desire/need to carry.

For some a mediocre gun with a 10ish % failure rate today is better than a “good” carry gun with a near 0% failure rate in 6 months, if you end up needing it between today and 6 months.

Try to relate it to the any gun you carry is better than the perfect gun sitting in your gun safe…same rationale. Get the best you can, when you can.

In my neck of the woods (Cleveland, Ohio area), if you bump it up to $400 and hit the Gun Shows, one can find a LOT of good used carry guns, and New Guns on Sale in Standard Calibers.

Comes down to the old Real Estate Rule: “Location, Location, Location”.

  6. Geodkyt Says:

    What Critter said.

Even with ComBloc Milsurp corrosive ball, I’ll take almost any used Tokarev made over the finest HiPoint ever produced.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
