Gun bills go down in TN

The house finance subcommittee voted the open carry without a permit bill overwhelmingly. Also, they’re not allowing it to go the floor because it’s an election year and they don’t want those votes counting on NRA endorsements.

And the House Finance, Ways and Means Subcommittee chairman killed the park carry bill, which would have removed the exemption for preemption of gun laws in parks. NRA asks you to get on the phone and call Chairman Mike Harrison.

A few reps are going to learn a lesson soon: Dance with who brung ya.

    Shenanigans.

Apparently the bill would not cost the State money and probably would pass – so it was amended to add a cost, which meant it had to be approved by Finance, which would/could not deem it acceptable.

As long as Haslam is Governor and Harwell is speaker, this will happen. We were better when a Dem was Governor.

So they refused to de-criminalize the free exercise of a right specifically enumerated in the State Constitution, Article I, the DECLARATION OF RIGHTS.

I would rather have a classically liberal Democrat who actually supports the State Constitutions enumerated, DECLARED rights. (But most Democrats now are authoritarian leftists) I do recall the Legislature having to override a Bredesen veto of a pro-gun bill several years ago right at the end of the session. Had this current bill been passed, Gov. Haslam would’ve probably vetoed it AFTER the Legislature adjourned, even though I recall candidate Haslam telling a Tennessee Firearm Association meeting that he would support Constituional Carry.

What does anyone expect with a RINO as governor. I certainly hope people remember in November, because enough is enough.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
