David Gregory unavailable for comment

A bit back, the news host held some illegal AR-15 magazines aloft as if they were magic items possessed by the devil. Holding the evil box and spring in DC is illegal. The police let him off the hook because he’s not the little people. However, someone who is not David Gregory was just convicted for having duds and replica ammo.

We’re no longer a nation of laws but of men. And some men are better than others.

Well said…I would only add that perhaps you could substitute “donors” for men.

  2. Jeff from DC Says:

That is not factually correct-the Attorney General’s office let him off the hook.

And that is why I keep saying that..

EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW should include EQUAL ENFORCEMENT.

That guy that was convicted should take that argument to the Supreme Court.

Having been pulled over by a traffic cop for being the last in line of a group of speeding cars on a highway, I know that the argument “but, but, they were ALL speeding, too, and you didn’t arrest them!” holds very little weight with law enforcement or judicial folk, at least at that level.

I’d go with the more nuanced argument that the law is unconstitutional because it makes investigations into self defense impractical – you can’t own any portion of a self defense firearm without going through the whole registration, and you have to buy an entire firearm to start that registration, in DC. The argument would be, “The law is irrational, there is no supporting rational basis for it.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
