Perspective

The great gun panic was a 6% NICS increase.

But for months the shelves of every gun store in the country were bare. Based on that there is no way that there could have been an increase of more than 6% because there were only 6% more guns to be had. Without the drastically limited supply who knows how much bigger the increase would have been.

A 6% increase on a large number is itself a large number, but based on the price increases for ARs, there could have been a lot more sold than were.

Remember, one NICS check does *NOT* equal one gun. At the beginning people were buying multiple guns with each purchase. Later, of course, supply (and seller policies) mostly limited them to one gun at a time.

The early speculators were buying 5 or more guns at a time, and throughout people were tending to get both handguns and long guns in one purchase.

Still, shows how closely supply has been matched to demand if a relatively small increase (whatever it actually was) in demand could empty the pipeline.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
