In Hindsight

Perhaps my last meal of beans and cornbread before the Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy tomorrow was a mistake.

Not for you, but for the person who decided to specialize in such things, I’m guessing.

  2. Boyd Says:

I guess that depends on how long it takes you to, erm, “clear the chamber.”

  3. nk Says:

You should be ok. Food clears out of the stomach within 6-8 hours. If they think there’s still food there and there’s danger of regurgitation and aspiration they just won’t do it. Don’t get your bowels in an uproar 😉 worrying about it.

  4. Brick Says:

Don’t worry. It will all work out in the end.

  5. poobie Says:

good luck to you. I’ve got a PET in the morning my ownself.

  6. Magus Says:

It is written that a great Persian monarch once charged his wise men to give him a wisdom which should be true and appropriate in all times and situations.

They presented to him the words: “And this, too, shall pass.”

Sometimes though, with cornbread and soup beans, the process of the passing can be… unpleasant.

  7. SayUncle Says:

Oh the passing is as pleasant as can be. I meant the gas.

  8. Sebastian Says:

    Still having the digestive issues?

  9. HL Says:

    Hope everything comes out alright.

  10. rickn8or Says:

IIRC, the prep reads “Nothing by mouth after midnight.”

(Or was that for the other end?)

    Hoping everything turns out normal.

Nah, if you feel something uncomfortable, let out some stink!

I do the same thing with the TSA!

  12. Roger Says:

Just think of the upside of the entire event. The goal, when finished is to prove that you are a perfect
***hole. If in fact this is not the case, they will work diligently (snipping & clipping) to MAKE you a perfect ***hole!
    :->

    “Hindsight?”

Ever wonder why they’re so particular about those preps for colonoscopy? There was an Ignobel for that a couple years ago. In da Yerp, they let one slide, then used that little sparker to go after a polyp. The patient exploded. I, for one, am all done complaining.

  15. mikee Says:

Having had my first colonscopy just a few months ago, I find that whatever was eaten before the “cleansing” made no difference whatsoever, because it ALL came out within hours of a couple of pills and the delicious flushing beverages I was told to take the day before.

    WHOOSH!

  16. Bob Owens Says:

Good luck with the ‘scope. They aren’t fun, but hopefully can help get things sorted out for you. Prayers headed your way!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
