Layers of editorial oversight

This week, in the media on guns:

Machine gun found at JFK. Only not.

What is an “assault shotgun“? A sensationalized propaganda term, I guess.

Is it the same thing as a “law-enforcement-style shotgun“?

AR-15s in the news

How the media got everything wrong during the Navy Yard Shooting.

They get this one right: A study released Sept. 16 by the National Urban League and Mayors Against Guns . . . Heh.

Well, the Atchisson is an assault shotgun… I mean, it says so right in the name!

  2. Matt R. Says:

It must be common practice for those with a political agenda to include justifiable homicides and also suicides in their “murder” or “gun deaths” category. These make the statistics say what these folks want them to say, of course.

Saying ‘justifiable homicides increase’ should actually be a good thing though, right? Are those not rapists that were prevented from preying on someone’s daughter, and muggers who chose the wrong family to victimize?

  3. KevinM Says:

Since when is shotgun ammo sold in lots divisible by six?

  4. Austrian Anarchy Says:

When they turn off the government tonight, do I get to legally saw off my shotguns without paying extra taxes and doing all that license mumbo-jumbo?

  5. Beaumont Says:

Apparently in the People’s Democratic Republic of Jersey, Arisakas are “assault weapons”. It makes a twisted sort of sense: Arisakas, as a class by themselves, were actually used to “assault” more people than all the civilian-owned firearms in the USA.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
