The idea that “Africa needs to become an economic powerhouse” is as good an idea as “Slavery in the US is bad, we need to abolish it” was back in about 1820.
There are more than a few intermediate steps required to overcome the impediments to economic prosperity in Africa.
The process required to overcome about 99.9% of those problems is not a current subject of debate.
