Scared me for a minute there, Uncle. It’s revoked, not expired. FOIDs expire all the time — people move, die, go blind, whatever. Revoked means crime, addiction, mental illness.

Suppose you were a Cook County law enforcement officer, and had to choose between attempting to arrest an armed gang banger for a drive by shooting, or confiscate the guns of a law-abiding suburbanite that the county could not get an FOID card to in time.
Which job looks safer, less stressful, more likely of success?

Ok, if these FOID’s were actually revoked for cause then why in Cthulhu’s name was this not done immediately afterwards? If these people are so evil as to have had their cards you’d think they Law would be right on top of this.
Whats more likely is that they were revoked for pedantic chickenshit reasons or they just expired.
