Knife rights

A bill to get rid of some of Tennessee’s archaic knife laws advances. Switchblades and fixed blades over four inches would become legal to carry for defense.

“The Right to Keep and Bear Arms…”

Not “The Right to Keep and Bear Guns…”

And to think that the old WWII bayonet I used to have in my car was illegal. Makes no sense.

I’m still baffled by the way, here in Oregon, you can own a switchblade without restriction (other than, IIRC, the usual felon prohibitions).

And you can carry a concealed gun, with a permit.

But unless you’re a cop or disabled or in the military, you absolutely cannot carry that switchblade

Here in Texas dirks, switchblades, double edged knives and most specifically Bowie knives are not legal for carry.

We’ll see open carry of handguns again before we see Bowie knives allowed.

We know their only purpose was for slicing up drunken river boat men in bar fights.

I still keep a K-Bar in the car trunk. Darn useful thing, a big sharp knife.

mikee, there is a bill in the legislature proposing making the carrying of switchblades legal. Contact your rep and state senator…

    No Bowie knives? In Texas?
    The very stones cry out.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
