If they start using them to hassle people, I don’t think they’ll need sensors to find out if people are armed.

Will they be able to discriminate between a gun and a pop tart shaped like a gun?
I predict an increased popularity in hats. And those tinfoil hats may finally show their functionality.
BTW, keep in mind the first time they use weapons from a drone inside the US, it is de facto admission that they can no longer exercise the rule of law, i.e., have positive control on the ground, in their jurisdiction.

There’s a reason you see so many stockless and bubba-folding AKs overseas: open carry gets you killed.
It’s about time we started using SBR folders with suppressors or flash hiders, rather than M4geries with giant muzzle brakes. Or Bullpups, which have the massive advantage of being compact without going sub-16″.

Reading further into it, the signals intelligence specifications say they need to be able to do direction finding and interception from 30 MHz to 3 GHz, which would cover many civilian communications including cell phones, FRS/GMRS walkie-talkies, VHF Marine, MURS radios, and VHF/UHF ham frequencies.
It doesn’t cover 27 MHz CB freqs, nor does it cover HF ham radio frequencies.
/Just sayin’.
