Get offa my lawn

Had this same experience on a recent jaunt to the grocery store, though one magazine was entirely about presumably famous people I’d never heard of getting fat. And if I listen to a top 40 station or an adult hits station, I have no idea who those people are.

Though I wonder if it’s really age? I tend to think it’s more my increased usage of the internet. I simply have a choice about what is piped into my home and I don’t just have to sit there while someone pipes into my home whatever they choose. But it could be age.

It’s neither. It’s your give-a-shit has other priorities.

At least that’s the way it works for me, because I don’t give-a-shit about “Honey Boo Boo” or a bunch of moronic peeps on Jersey Shore. Actually, all of the celebrities are so far down on my give-a-shit list that I care more about a fungus growing in a gnat’s ass than them.

    But that’s just me.

My music taste hasn’t changed. Just my radio station moved from “top 40” to “contemporary” to “classic rock”. Whey it’s “oldies” I will consider myself elderly.

I’m in my mid-20s, and on a recent trip I had a rental car with nowhere to plug in my MP3 player, so it was FM radio only. I had no idea who most of those artists were.

There is good music still being made nowadays, but you’re unlikely to find it on the radio.

The good music has rarely made it to the radio. It took me a while to realize that, as I grew up before .alt media. It was after progressive FM, and it was a brave station indeed that went outside of AOR. It’s not your age, it’s what you’ve been fed.

I find that not paying for TV (cable or Sat) makes a huge difference. I hear about boo boo people, swamp people, zombie people and don’t have any idea who they are talking about. One of the local stations started a digital country music tv on their extra channels. It’s not country anymore, it’s 80s rock w/ banjos and rapping. We need to hook Hank up to the power grid, he’s spinning so fast.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
