In Illinois

The senate there is pushing one of the more ridiculous pieces of legislation ever. I don’t see how anything in it could withstand a legal challenge. The NRA rep agrees. This is real and you local folks should get on the phone.

Der, didn’t a judge just smack them with an order to pass a less restrictive law? Is it possible to hold the entire legislature in contempt? That would be fun!

  2. mikee Says:

The IL legislature is currently partway through a 180 day time period to produce a law (that is constitutional) regarding the keeping and bearing of arms.

This is not going to satisfy the judge.

IANAL, but I wonder if after the 180 days ends, if there is no new law passed, all existing laws under the judge’s ruling are null and void?

I’m thinking the IL legislature is going to pass concealed-carry at the last possible minute of that 180-day period. BUT it will be so restrictive that it’s going to make getting a carry permit in San Francisco look like shall-issue.

Which means back to court to start all over.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
