Despite what you read, the R doesn’t stand for Republican

Not happy with NRA’s endorsement of a Democrat. For some reason, NRA tends to prefer incumbents.

    WTF!?

  2. Jake Says:

Of course, the Republican had the better pro-gun voting record, but why should the NRA care about that?

Sorry, but the NRA’s endorsements have become pretty much meaningless. They don’t reflect who has the best record on guns, they reflect who the NRA thinks will win.

  3. Sean D Sorrentino Says:

Jake is correct. It has nothing to do with the D or R. It has everything to do with the fact that they gave an A rating to a D candidate.

I pretty much wrote off NRA’s endorsements after 2010 when they endorsed Whorehouse Harry Reid over the R because they were afraid Chucky Schumer would wind up as Senate Majority Leader.

Yeah, what a disaster THAT would have been!

Because they tend to win, and if they’ve voted with you, it’s politically smarter to stick by them rather than throw them under the bus.

A lot of these state and local gun rights groups never met a Democrat who was pro-gun enough.

  6. Roberta X Says:

The NRA has long had a policy of endorsing incumbents over challengers, unless the incumbent is anti-gun. A 74% pro-gun guy who already has the job over a 100%-er who will be a freshman? No surprise.

  7. Mu Says:

Funny when a guy from NC, with a R government and rather restrictive gun laws, bitches about people voting D for a guy who is gun friendly only 75% of the time. At least for a guy from a D state with liberal gun laws.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
