Interesting

A few conservative critics faulted a lot of the polling data saying that it over sampled Democrats by a considerable margin. But, it seems to me, that was correct merely because a lot of Republicans didn’t show up. But Barack Obama First President Re-Elected With Less Popular, Electoral Support Second Time Around.

Because we, as Republicans, did not wish to vote for a candidate we did not choose. Ask George H.W. We were given a candidate. We did NOT want him. Status Quo. I did not want to vote for, well…..

  2. Cargosquid Says:

Because 10-12 million Republicans decided to take their ball and go home because they weren’t “inspired”, coaxed, driven, begged, etc. Because certain Republicans, knowing what was at stake, decided that the possibility of 4 more years of this lying, corrupt, incompetent, scumbag of a President was preferable than voting for the party’s candidate, chosen through the established competition of a primary. And no, he wasn’t my favored candidate.

You go to war with the army that you have. And this is war.

  3. Bubblehead Les Says:

Well, I Voted. And I Voted Against Obama. And I Voted against Obama by putting down Romney.

So now, I Vote for Plan B, if necessary. Hopefully, it won’t come to that.

  4. SPQR Says:

I was one of those critics. I did not see that the Democrats had the enthusiasm level. Sadly, I was wrong and I’ll admit it. The Democrats did not have the enthusiasm level but made up for it with a polished GOTV effort and the GOP sucked ass in GOTV.

You do realize 2012 was a re-play of 2004, right?

In 2004, the Dems nominated a cold, rich, out-of-touch, pepper-haired Boston Brahmin with a long history of putting his foot in his mouth. To clinch the deal, he selected a young, telegenic running mate with a reputation as a “wonk”, who couldn’t even deliver his home state. Lurch lost.

So what do the Republicans do in 2012?

Nominate a cold, rich, out-of-touch, pepper-haired, part-time Boston Brahmin with a long history of putting his foot in his mouth. To clinch the deal, he selected a young, telegenic running mate with a reputation as a “wonk”, who couldn’t even deliver his home state. Romney lost.

They don’t call it the Stupid Party for nothing.

In 2016, can we (pretty please?) nominate Dick Cheney, maybe with Harriet Miers as his running mate? Let’s do a re-run of the 1984 election, with the Dems winning every state except Wyoming!

  6. Jake Says:

Because 10-12 million Republicans decided to take their ball and go home because they weren’t “inspired”, coaxed, driven, begged, etc. were disgusted. Because certain Republicans, knowing what was at stake, decided that the possibility of 4 more years of this lying, corrupt, incompetent, scumbag of a President was preferable than voting for the party’s candidate, chosen through the established competition of a by the Party establishment through a blatantly manipulated primary, without regard to the concerns and objections of a large part of the party membership, because it was his turn.

    There, fixed it for you.

  7. Snackeater Says:

I’m not sure what disgusts me more–the fact that you couldn’t be bothered to vote, or the fact that you admit it. Sniveling little cowards.

  8. chris Says:

The 2012 election was winnable by a GOP nominee who had core beliefs he or she could articulate.

Garbage GOP candidates yield bad results.

The only winning election cycle the GOP has experienced in the last 10 years is 2010 in which Tea Party candidates retook the House and added dramatically at the state and local level.

So what does the GOP do?

It crawls in bed with Karl Rove, whose moderates gave us such fine results in 2006 and 2008.

When the GOP gets sufficietly tired of losing elections, it can run conservative candidates and win.

  9. Sebastian The Other Says:

Didn’t it ever occur to you that maybe just maybe the pollsters consider how likely someone is to actually vote (hint: they do).

I’m sure all those snooty, snotty, snickering boneheads who insisted alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll those polls were wrong and were pretty rude about it to boot (yes, Breda the Fallacious, I’m looking at you) will be along any second to concede they were wrong.

  10. Manish Says:

Obama won with a heck of a lot more support than Bush II.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
