Oh, you wacky libertarians

Cue It’s All Your Fault

Did you know the GOP was too libertarian? Neither did anyone else.

Some races spoiled by the libertarian candidate. But remember, your vote doesn’t matter.

Republicans lost because of Republicans. Because of idiots like that guy in Indiana who thought that rape was part of god’s will.

I wonder how he feels about the systematic rape of Muslim women by the Christian soldiers in the Serbian/Bosnian war. Women were raped repeatedly in concentration camps until they were pregnant. I guess that was god’s will too. Most of the civilized world considered it a war crime.

As long as Republicans have bunch of people who actively say that they wish it was 1950 again, they are going to lose elections. (Hint: 1950 was really good for straight, white men. Not so good for anyone else.)

  2. Bobby Says:

The more races they lose by margin-of-libertarian/constitutionalist, the better.
After a (long) while, the stupid party will get savy that they used to win by pushing pro-liberty candidates.

  3. Earl Harding Says:

No races were spoiled by libertarian candidates.

The GOP spoiled their own races by running as big government corporate statists.

I’ve never ever seen a GOP fiscal conservative. Even the Paul Ryan budget increased spending.

  4. Speakertweaker Says:

It’s both. Not only do our votes not matter, but we also spoil the race for Republicans. It’s a convenient non-truth for Republicans, because it completely removes any responsibility for putting a big-government Democrat up against a big-government Democrat.

    Zendo Deb,

As stupid as Mourdock was for answering a question posed to him by discussing his beliefs rather than answering by simply pointing out that SCOTUS has spoken, you have completely misrepresented his comment.

He NEVER stated nor implied that rape was “God’s will”. What he said, when asked DIRECTLY, if he personally agreed with allowing abortion in cases of rape and incest, was that, should a pregnancy result, then that new life is God’s will, and teh fetus hadn’t committed any crime.

Shockingly enough, that is a simple restatement of basic pro-life position (including the canons of the Catholic Church) that EVEN HIS OPPONANT agreed with.

Dislike him for being an idiot, dislike him for having positin you disagree with — but to libel him by claiming he said things he did not say or imply is simply dishonest.

  6. Zendo Deb Says:

So as in the case in Serbia (or was it Bosnia?) the women were held in concentration camps and repeatedly, systematically raped until pregnant. Not a “chance occurrence.” They were held at least until it was clear they were pregnant and then turned out (since the idea was to get them pregnant by Christian fathers). So all those new lives. That was god’s will? Really? Pretty hard to separate the rape and the war crime from the pregnancy under those conditions.

  7. Cargosquid Says:

    “Republicans lost because of Republicans.”

    Truer words were never spoken.
It wasn’t lost by “conservative” politicians with clumsy language. It wasn’t lost by “statist” Republicans. It wasn’t lost by “messaging” or GOTV.

It was lost by Republican VOTERS. They are adults and shouldn’t need coaxing or inspiration. They knew the stakes. They decided that the risk of Obama winning was more acceptable than voting for Romney. So, if you know a Republican that didn’t vote for Romney, congratulate him. His candidate won.

  8. blounttruth Says:

In all swing states where Romney lost, the votes fell within the range of votes Ron Paul garnered. Think what you like, but the GOP made their bed when they told the real physical conservatives that they did not have a voice in the party. The only ones looking for some to blame are the partisans, and they always look to someone else to blame when they lose because they do not care about policy or reality only party.

A suggestion would be to run a candidate that is not more to the left of the incumbent, and perhaps they can garner the votes of real conservatives. The GOP has not learned their lesson yet, they are trying their best through their propaganda wing at Fox to push Rubio, **NEWS FLASH** Rubio is a big government neo conservative and proud of it, this means no White House in 2016, as the same Republicans will sit at home for this criminal Israel firster like they did with the Liberals McCain and Romney.

    This.

    And this.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
