Abortion. There I said it

It’s amusing. Whenever I mention the A word in a political context, not stating an opinion just the political aspect, someone pops in to tell me they’re not reading me anymore.

Personally, I’d like to see Abortion expanded to Birth+ 80 years. And make it RetroActive. And let’s start in Washington, DC.

  2. kbiel Says:

I stopped reading you the last 5 times you mentioned abortion. I am still not reading you now.

  3. WildRiver Says:

…”someone pops in to tell me they’re not reading me anymore.”…

Piss on’em, and their little wizened minds.

  4. Barron Barnett Says:

He’s mainly upset because honestly you’re right.

  5. Geodkyt Says:

1 I’m not reading you now. Because I’ve read you for the day. I’ll be back to read you when you post more free ice cream. Then I’ll stop reading you again. . .

    GOTO 1

  6. NotClauswitz Says:

Good thing you don’t bring up LBGTQ marriage or immigration or any of the other Identity-Politics brushes they use to paint with.

  7. mikee Says:

I keep waiting for you to get all libertarian on Thimerisol in vaccinations, or perhaps the Tridentine Latin Mass, or even fluoridation in our drinking water polluting our vital, precious bodily fluids before I stop reading you.

When that one post finally arrives, sending me into paroxysms of outraged self-righteousness, I know it will have been worth the wait.

I have unsubscribed from all of my political rss feeds. I will not unsubscribe from this site. And yes, Abortion bit the repubs in the ass. Again. I can’t see why normal people cannot understand that Repub or DemocRAT doesn’t matter. They are both statists, and seek to run your life. They are both owned by Goldman-Sachs.

  9. Bram Says:

I was Goldman or Sachs I would be deeply insulted be settles.

  10. ATLien Says:

How hard is it to say “if you don’t like abortion, then don’t get one”?

  11. Disavowed With Honor Says:

Abortion: Legal and you can use it if you believe it’s OK. BUT… You have to pay for it yourself. Insurance won’t cover it and no government handout. It’s your body, so it’s your responsibility. Not mine, not the government’s. YOURS! Problem addressed… Problem solved… in less than 2 minutes. I have just proven my superiority to all politicians.

  12. Matthew Carberry Says:

    @ATLien,

Infanticide, if you don’t like it, don’t do it…

Euthenasia in the name of (insert flavor of eugenics), if you don’t like it, don’t do it…

This isn’t as simple as “Bible thumpers imposing their morality on women.” The very real philosophical question of what is human personhood and to what humans does it apply, and when, and under what circumstances, is involved.

While I agree there comes a point where it is not proper to try to legislate the answer, the underlying question is serious and meaningful enough that dismissing it with bumper sticker slogans is ethically insufficient.

  13. nexyjo Says:

hmmm, i read you *because* you said “abortion”.

  14. Eichenlaub Says:

Abortion as a form of birth control and “gun crime” are bad.
Banning abortions or guns will get people killed.
    Reduce both through other means.
Instead of spending millions to change the law, spend your millions how you see fit to reduce them.

  15. rickn8or Says:

When you’ve watched an “R” candidate shove his face into that verbal bear trap for perhaps the sixth time, it stops being funny. Comes up every election, from dog catcher to president. Never get around to asking the “D”s the same question though.

For all you people that slept through Civics class: The president has exactly as much control over “A” in this country as he does the price of gas.

And this is it, I’m gonna stop reading you.

    Until tomorrow that is.

  16. StanInTexas Says:

    From the Left…

Don’t like abortion, then don’t have one, but leave my rights alone.
Don’t like gay marriage, then don’t have one, but leave my rights alone.
But I don’t like guns, SO NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE ALLOWED TO HAVE ONE AND IF YOU DISAGREE THEN YOU ARE A MURDERER AND A TERRORIST AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO HAVE THAT OPINION… ARRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
