It doesn’t say so but I’m betting the officer who shot himself in the leg left a finger on the trigger while holstering.

Wasn’t there something a while back about some sort of coupled action between right and left hand, so that if one was holding a gun in the right hand and, for example, pulled a target down with the left hand, they would reflexively pull the trigger without knowing it? This in spite of exercising otherwise good trigger discipline?
