In Fast And Furious News

No evidence Holder knew about it. No evidence he acted appropriately when he found out either.

Justice Department regularly uses Media Matters to spin their failings. Maybe if Romney wins, liberals will care about civil liberties and accountable government again?

Um… lemme see, DOJ IG, now “who” does he report to??? Just sayin…

  2. j t bolt Says:

No evidence he knew about it? Well did some ask him if he knew about it?

  3. NotClauswitz Says:

So, the only conclusion left is the BATF really is a rogue agency that does things outside the law and without any oversight…?

Liberals care about civil liberties only to the extent, and in such manner, as that care translates into an expansion of government power and a diminution of individual liberties.

Civil Rights allowed Democrats to craft race specific laws, treating individuals as members of a Party-favored or disfavored group rather than as persons with individual rights.

Attacking Republican infringement of rights exists only to destroy Republicans, not to stop the infringement of rights. Where did the anti-WAR crowd go, the moment Democrats controlled the Senate and the Executive? Nothing changed in government policy or military performance, but the far-left anti-war protestors vanished. If nothing else, their protest was clarified: it was not against WAR, but against Republicans.

BATFE still has tens of thousands of pages of emails, reports, and other documents that Congress and the IG have never seen, let alone reviewed. When a State Department Dem holdover, Richard Armitage, outed a not-really-covert nuclear weapons analyst, Dem outrage was such that careers were destroyed and a completley uninvolved Republican person went to jail, convicted of a felony. When BATFE under Holder’s DOJ is complicit in hundreds of deaths, including government agents, all the Dem outrage can be covered comnpletely by a used Kleenex, and promotions are given to the participants.

No evidence. How did that investigation go? “AG Holder, did you know about this?” “(Dick) Holder: um, no.” “Oh, ok, thanks.” NO EVIDENCE! It’s so easy!

  6. dustydog Says:

Romney should consider claiming that Obama personally signed the Executive Order for Fast and Furious.

50/50 chance of it being true, and Obama can’t do anything to dispute the claim.

  7. Ted N Says:

“Breaking news: Top cops say top cop is cool. Film at 11!”

Dustydog: that’d be a nice checkmate.

  8. Bubblehead Les Says:

Well, this report does one of two things. If it is True and Holder didn’t know Squat, then he had a Rogue Agency operating right under his nose, with his underlings covering it up. So he’s Too Incompetent for the Job and should be Trashed.

If he did know, then he’s Guilty as Hell and is running a Cover-Up, a la John Mitchell in the Nixon White House during Watergate. So he’s Aiding and Abetting and needs to be Trashed.

Either way though, with those 14 Named ATF and DOJ people, the Family of Agent Terry can now call them in to Testify in their Civil Trial. And if they try to Dodge the Court, they can be looking at Contempt and Jail.

So if I was one of those 14, and I just got thrown under the Bus, I’d be the next John Dean so fast that it make your head spin.

For the youngsters out there, John Dean was thrown under the Bus during Watergate, and he turned “States Evidence,” which brought down the Nixon Admin. I expect someone to be talking to his Lawyers and trying to cut a Deal this weekend, so they don’t have to face the Judge in the Terry Trial.

HA! Told y’all — Holder ain’t going anywhere. Anyone (including Issa) looking to hold him responsible for anything was gonna get tarred as a “RACIST!!!!!!!”. If you know anything about the Beltway, then you know that there is no quicker way to clear a room full of Republicans than to scream the R-word at them. Pathetic.

So, they found their patsies. Both sides will claim victory, and life will go on. It’s a thing of beauty.

As for the notion that any of these patsies will turn into the next “John Dean”, forget it. And it is for two reasons: the Establishment Press has no interest in anything that makes Obama look bad, and Nixon was nowhere near as ruthless as these people. Would-be “John Deans” can scream all they want: the American people won’t get to hear any of it because the Press from which most Americans still get their news will cooperate with the cover-up.

The fact that Holder has skated on something this big also means that anybody crossing him (or his boss) is gonna end up in a world of hurt. So, this is how it’s gonna be, Mr. John Dean: a) you take the fall, quiet-like, and get a nice, juicy sinecure at one of America’s toniest lobbying firms, invitations to all the right parties, and a Presidental pardon should you need it; or b) you experience an “incident” in the near future (you know, the kind where you commit “suicide” by shooting yourself seven times in the back of the head).

    Do you understand yet?

  10. Huck Says:

The only government officials liberals want to be held accountable for their actions are those who have a (R) after their names.

  11. Sigivald Says:

Maybe if Romney wins, liberals will care about civil liberties and accountable government again?

    Yup.

Or at least they’ll make a show of acting like they do.

  12. richard Says:

Really, Fast and Furious is a much bigger story than Watergate. Watergate was a petty burglary to spy on the Democrat National Convention. No one was physically injured. Fast and Furious was a widespread operation in which licensed firearm dealers were compelled by ATF agents to carry out suspected sales in violation of federal law. While ostensibly an effort to track these weapons, this clearly was not the case. ATF did not bother to inform the Mexican authorities nor even their own agents in Mexico. The purpose could not have been for any other reason than to “prove” that the Mexican cartels were getting huge numbers of firearms from U.S. dealers in proximity to the border. The result was hundreds of deaths at the hands of criminals using U.S. supplied weapons. The News media will never push this issue or barely even mention it, because Obama is their darling. Nixon was guilty, primarily, of being paranoid. Obama, on the other hand, is a full blown tyrant, under whose administration, there have been attacks against, free speech, the right to keep and bear arms, freedom of religion, free travel, unlawful search and seizure, posse comitatus and selective enforcement of federal law. He has said,”The Constitution is just an old piece of paper” and has proceeded to piss all over it.

  13. Ron W Says:

mikee, very well said in post #4!!

And where are the liberals on Obama’s signing of the 2012 NDAA? That by which the government can “legally” arrest without warrant and indefinitely deatin without trial, anyone SUSPECTED of terrorism which tramples the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments??

My two supposedly “conservative” Tennessee Senators, Alexander and Corker, voted for it, so they, like Obama are UNFIT for office. I consider this as treason against the Constitution and particularly, the Bill of Rights!
So c’mon you true liberals, jjoin with us true conservatives who want to CONSERVE All of the Bill of Rights!!

  14. Ron W Says:

Abolish the BATF! Re-assign its agents to the U.S. Border Patrol and let them treat invaders like they treat U.S. Citizens exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
