If they’re hotbeds of criminal activity, arrest the criminals

Knoxville is using nuisance laws to shut down businesses where there’s crime. Here’s a list. Going after criminals is hard and pointless so going after the business owners makes things easy, I guess.

They do that in Iowa, too. Then all bitch that the area is under served and bemoan the fact the no one will open a business the the area. Well no shit, Sherlock, you ran the last guy out.

    Interesting.

The news story focuses on recurring violent crimes, but then when you look at the list of closed properties you see an awful lot of bars and massage parlors named. Somehow I doubt violent crime was the main problem those establishments presented.

So what is really going on is another ratchet in the on-going war on victimless crimes, such as marijuana consumption and sex for money, to say nothing of some old-fashioned dry-style alcohol prohibition.

Yep, better to not only suffer an underworld of crime but also shut down businesses rather than give up the puritanical holy war against private vices. The spirit of the Anti-Saloon League marches on!

Was reading their comments and people in Knoxville actually run other people out of neighborhoods because they “look” like criminals.. Jesus H Christ the would probably freak if I showed up. A long, black haired brown dude wearing a 3 piece suit and driving a white on white porsche twin turbo.. No one ever guesses I am a very successful insurance salesman..

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
