A roll with a gun doesn’t make much sense. But if you want to pick up a gun from the ground while moving it might. I’ve seen that done during a break in training by the instructors and even practiced it a little bit. It might even be the right thing to do when the gun is in the open and there is cover on either side.
But my bottom line on it is that the roll is a “cool” solution in search of a problem.

‘Javelin’, so much fail. A roll has no tactical purpose whatsoever except in Mall Ninja Interpretative Dance.

Its not a tactical maneuver, its an Akido drill that teaches you how to get to the ground really fast, and how to move comfortably with the ground.
Its odd that he added a gun to the Akido drills though.
