Army bans P-Mags
Seems polymer magazines are now a no-go for troops because they are not government issued. And and Army reporter calling them “high-performance” and “the most dependable” is noteworthy.

So, the question to ask now is: who in the Army is getting what kind of kickbacks from the “authorized” magazine suppliers?

More like Soldiers ignoring stupid orders as soon as the bras is out of sight. I’ll bet a lot of poly mags are being spay painted grey right now. I’ll also bet that there are patrols going out right now with metal mags in their rifles – and pouches full of ploy mags out of sight.
Once last prediction – not a single Jag or busy-body officer outside the wire will try to enforce the rule.

This rule was probably put in place because there are certain really bad magazines out there, but in such a sweeping ruling they’ve also eliminated the best magazine out there, typical government stupidity.

P-mags are great, but standard issue mags aren’t bad either. And the Army would much rather that units spend their discretionary funds on stuff that the Army won’t just give them, like magazines for their rifles.

This is how large bureaucratic organizations, and the Army is among the largest, work.
Because they can’t allow the chaos of multiple unapproved choices overwhelm the supply and maintenance system. To an organization of that size, success actually often requires standardization upon a “good-enough” solution. Often enough that the approach is SOP and going to happen no matter what.

No, they were simply mags that preformed as they should perform in any environment!!!
Well I guess it’s boo-hoo for you cause it’s the BEST for me and the rest for the army!
I bet P-mags, which there are lots made, will go down in price as the market is flooded with ’em (for now.)
Oh,and what poor politician tried to get the patent for the P-mags? Yea I said politician. They are getting more and more like the Mexican government.
