Meanwhile, in Tennessee

From a facebook friend, apparently someone named Possum tools about town on a John Deere mower. I think my favorite part is the handicap sticker. Or the awesome parking job:

    Probably a drunk who had his license revoked and is under the mistaken impression that the mower, being unlicensed, doesn’t require him to have a driver’s license to operate.

    He’s only partially correct: he can operate it on private property legally, but when he puts it on the pavement to use for transport, it’s classed as a motor vehicle.

    If the Sheriff has space for him in the calaboose, he’ll wind up there eventually.

    I think the license plate is a George Jones shout-out. He was notorious for driving his lawn mower to the bar when he couldn’t drive due to a DUI. (Vince Gill mentions it in his song “One More Last Chance.”) And his nickname is The Possum.

    Unless, of course, it’s George Jones himself.

    Thats Pretty funny.I watched a guy in my neighborhood get pulled over driving down the street on his lawn tractor with a fresh 12 pack in tow.

    Just, you know, for what it’s worth (“Rache” is German for “revenge”…), “possum” is Latin for “I am able,” or, Englishly, “Yes I can.”

    Stop giggling in the back there. Latinists are not unheard of in Tennessee. Drunk Latinist on a JD? Got one right here. Monzadeesledoe.

    I might be willing to wager a week’s earnings that the operator of the aforementioned John Deere mower is still a far more intelligent, reasonable, rational human being than that ass-raping sack of filth that is called, “Mayor Bloomberg.”

    But then, that’s just my opinion…..
