Yup, you can get arrested for going through the drive-through for a happy meal on the way home from the range in Maryland. I’ve been warned years ago while taking the range walk-through that sometimes Maryland State Troopers stake out shooting ranges to make an easy bust.

Why go after real crime when you can easily get “one more gun off the street” by a inadvertent law breaker?

I’ve never heard any such stories, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

The MD statute in this regard is pretty vague and I can’t imagine they’d want to have the statute called onto the carpet with such a specious arrest.

Hopefully a non-issue now, as MD will be forced to start issuing permits.

(my gun is not on the banned list in Maryland)

Actually, the only banned guns in Maryland are machine-pistols. There are handguns which cannot be sold in Maryland, but none that cannot be possessed.

It’s a little like the 20 round magazine limit. OK to own. Not OK to sell.

I wonder what her friends are “compensating for?”

We’ve got shooting grannies in the news up here.
