Natural selection, how does it work?

  2. ExurbanKevin Says:

I’m certain government intervention will do for the spotted owl what it did for GM or airport security.

  3. StanInTexas Says:

Put the US Government in charge of the Saraha Desert, and in five years, we’ll have a shortage of SAND!

  4. HL Says:

Let me repeat…I would burn spotted owls for fuel if it would save me gas money.

  5. The Comedian Says:

If they’re as good at picking birds as they are at picking “green” companies in which to invest, their choice should be dead by the end of O’s sole term.

Oh man. One of the projects I’m working on at the moment involves saving some sort of stupid endangered fish. To do this would require poisoning an entire lake/stream system upstream from a dam and killing everything in it, then reintroducing the one the environMentalists want. Never mind that the endangered fish is so dumb it can’t survive on it’s own, doesn’t fill any particular niche that the rainbow trout can’t take care of, and, most importantly, I doubt it tastes any better either. But the mindless government bureaucrats are forcing the water users association to do this so they can get the funding to fix up their dams.

All wild flying birds taste the same. Something like your shoe. Sautee them and simmer them with olive oil and generous slices of onion and generous tomato and time too.

Why would anyone give a hoot about spotted or barred owls, anyway, except for WATCHA SPENDING OUR TAX DOLLARS ON, YOU RIDICULOUS CLUSTER—- OF A FAILURE?

  8. HL Says:

Let me clarify, its not that I have anything against spotted owls particularly. They, along with dolphins have become the poster children for the whackos cause. I would burn dolphins instead of owls if they were more available.

Lastly, let me say, the best bumper sticker I think I have ever seen was at the Knob Creek Shoot about 10 years ago, on a Hummer…(a real one mind you, not that H2 nonsense).

It said “When the rain-forests are gone, you can wipe your ass on a spotted owl.”

  9. MS Says:

Actually this isn’t unprecedented in US history. There have been hunts aimed at reducing predator populations and the like for generations. There really is little difference, the goal being reduce the populations of a competing species so the survival rate of another species can rebound.

  10. comatus Says:

nk, I disagree. Spotted owl is even fishier than eagle. Tough, too, kind of like whuppin’ crane.

  11. anon Says:

How about that; some animals REALLY ARE more equal than others…

  12. Sid Says:

    Good quips, everyone. Especially HL.

All I can do is shake my head.

  13. Mr Evilwrench Says:

Poor spotted owls. Requiescat in Pace.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
