Funny how you can’t charge someone with something when they haven’t broken any laws. I’m sure the Obama admin is quite perturbed by it.

So India passes a lwa that makes your product illegal, but your competitor’s product is legal. Any chance corporations have learned that it’s easier (cheaper) to lobby the Indian (or other foreign) government to get favorable laws passed and stifle your competition than it is to do the same with US laws? It’s probably already being done.

Note, too, that the “Environmental Investigation Agency”: is NOT a law enforfcement agency of any kind. Except illegitimate.

  4. milquetoast Says:

Leatherwing, Gibson claims that the Indian government says the wood was exported correctly but that the US government’s interpretation of Indian law disagrees.

Andrea Johnson of the Environmental Investigation Agency says “it’s not up to Gibson to decide which laws…they want to respect” and then she says that despite the text of the law individuals don’t need to worry about needing a Lacey declaration. Shut up and she’ll tell you when you’re a felon.

  5. Stretch Says:

I’m sure a large donation to the Obama ’12 campaign will make the problem go away.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
