Rust

Johnson’s paste wax (yellow can) works very well for stopping rust on my EDC. Cheap, easy, clean.

That’s why I carry a pump bottle of Remington Rem Oil with moisture guard in my bailout bag. Make sure the insides are well oiled and spray as needed and wipe on the outside. And for IWB carry, carry a pistol for warm weather that does not have grip screws exposed. I rusted out the inside grip screws and lock washers on a Beretta 92 compact that way.

I use Amsoil MP (sometimes called AMP). Used to get very light surface rust on my Kimber, shot it with that stuff and it has never happened since.

The real problem with OC, is that some folk might think you want to seem intimidating. The kind of folks who don’t carry.

Meh, ive had it turn into good conversations with curious people. Just dont act intimidating, keep a smile and keep yourself like someone you might want to approach with a question.

Rem oil is junk, made the mistake of using it on a few rifles and a shotgun, when i got rust in a week of humid weather up there. Now i use exclusively weaponsheild, and the remoil goes to the workroom for use as a cutting and drilling oil. Which, it only does OK at.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
