Guns at the courts
DC circuit examines machine guns used in violent crimes. There is a 30 year minimum sentence for using a machine gun in a crime. So, the question is does it matter if the robber knew it was a machine gun. What is interesting to me, though, is that there is a 30 year minimum sentence for what is, basically, tax evasion. Seems so unusual.
And a lawyer looks at how the appearance of a firearm affects a jury. Interesting read, notably for how women’s views of guns affect sentencing.

I stopped reading at the 1995 Congressional hearings leading to the Assault Weapon Ban? WTF?
The AWB was 9/94. Dude just put a high capacity magazine into his credibility.

Full D.C. Circuit Court? Uh oh. Guess they’re looking for every Loophole to destroy Heller that they can.

I firmly believe, as a large “L” Libertarian, that we are constitutionally (small “C”) obligated to accept, unquestionally, every slimeball’s word that he did not know that what he was doing was illegal. [Sarcasm]
